by
J. Annas Walker

Three years have passed since vampire princess Cassy Daniels, Scion of the House of Dracul, gave up her title to turn and marry David Ashe. Together, they live in exile with the Council of Crones, a group of elder witches. Isolated from the world, they found bliss. However, vampire politics soon intrude. Born vampire women are being kidnapped, and Cassy’s next on the list.
After a failed attempt to take Cassy from the Council of Crones estate, magical portals lead back to the missing women. Cassy and David are tasked with bringing them home. David is sent after Elisabeta, Cassy’s sister-in-law, who is still on Earth. Cassy, however, has what it takes to enter the elf-kingdom of Avalon and retrieve the other three vampires.
Can Cassy and David hold on to their bliss, or will Avalon’s magic lure her from home?

Hop Against Homophobia and Transphobia 2014

It was a year ago, through participating in Hop Against Homophobia and Transphobia 2013, that I decided to tell my whole family that I write books about gay men. I decided to tell them, despite the fact that they might think it strange for a straight woman to write about gay men, because it felt wrong to hide it. It felt as though it meant I was ashamed of it somehow, and after hearing so many horrific stories about people coming out to their families and the kind of abuse they faced, I felt like a coward for not coming clean.
I'm very lucky that my family is filled with wonderful people, and that I live in the U.K where views on same sex relationships is fairly open, though we still have a long way to go. My family were nothing but proud of me, as I should have expected.
Over the last year it has seemed to me that the world has taken several steps backwards in regards to homophobia and transphobia. It has been made illegal in several other countries to be gay or trans and it seems as though every day on FaceBook I'm seeing more and more acts of violence and hate.

We can't let ourselves get complacent or ever accept things the way they are. Now more than ever we need to keep pushing, keep educating people, or we risk the undoing of all the hard work done by those who have come before us.

Lacey
by
Janis Susan May

Miss Lacey Chyngford’s late parents eloped and were banished disowned from their families. Now her grandmother, freed from the restraints of an overbearing husband, has tracked down the orphan and brought her back. Raised with a freedom of mind and having worked as companion to a strong-minded old woman, Lacey does not fit easily into the constraints of the Ton. Her aunt, uncle and cousin do not want her there, each for their own reasons. Lacey tries to conform to the new role that is her lot, but sometimes does not succeed.
Complications abound when she falls in love with the man earmarked for her cousin, and is urged into a relationship with the man her cousin truly loves. Then a revenant from her family’s past changes everything, making Lacey learn the true meaning of duty and the strength of true love.
